DS: Why on earth would Sacramento give up Dalembert, a rotation player for Curry?

They want to lose. They are only 4 games out of the worst record. They also don't want to take on long term salaries. I imagine they'd take the first offer that included expirings and "young player of marginal value." The sooner they ditch him, the sooner they can start losing. According ESPN:

The Kings, sources say, are open to moving big man Samuel Dalembert during the next 27 days before the deadline, but they remain unwilling to take back anything other than expiring contracts to preserve maximum flexibility on the other side of a new collective bargaining agreement

The article also claims they'd give up Udrih for nothing too. It makes sense. Udrih, Dalembert, Garcia and Landry can't fit into their long term plans -- by the time Evans and Cousins are in their primes, those guys will be in decline (and in the mean time, they youth will get fewer minutes to develop, and they'll get more wins [and worse draft picks]).

Speaking of the Kings, their wins against the Lakers and Hornets on consecutive nights makes me feel better about the Knicks' loss to them. DeMarcus looks like he's starting to kill it.

would you trade azuibuike straight up for yi jianlian? Big enough to put up a fight in the post, range out to the 3pt line, might really benefit from the fact that the offense would make him exclusively into a spot up shooter. He doesn't play much for Washington, and WAS would save about $5 million between luxury tax relief and buke's insured contract. He is still only 23 years old. He averages about 8 rebounds and a block per 36.

You could also try something like this if you wanted to add a big and a guard: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4lvohgv

Hinrich, IMO, is everything we want douglas to be: a smart defender who can still run the offense. IMO he's better than Udrih (due to defense and passing), and Jianlian has the potential to be for us what Channing Frye is for Phoenix.

BTW, Nick Young is an RFA at the end of this season. I think he could be the next rip hamilton except with better range (somewhere between hamilton and Kevin Martin). The numbers compare pretty well: http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=1&p1=youngni01&y1=2011&p2=martike02&y2=2008&p3=hamilri01&y3=2003

Do you think Washington will match any offer? What do you think his market value is? He's a player I'd love to have here who could grow with our young core. I know he doesn't match our needs biggest needs (although he's a better scorer than any other Knick wing IMO), but if Nene or Gasol fall through, I think he is definitely worth looking at. We can always make other moves to balance our roster.

I still think Mozgov is in NYK's long-term plans. I think we might see him get some run in this game against the Pistons tomorrow.

I, for one, like the idea of Dalembert, who is a true impact rebounder. 11.4 rebounds per 36 minutes over his career. He'd be the best rebounder on the team. He's been awful this year for Sacto but I bet we could get 20 decent minutes out of him per game. His TS% numbers are usually at least tolerable and I think his offensive performance this year with Sacto is an aberration.
