<strong><a href="#comment-301139" rel="nofollow">nicos</a></strong>: no passes that made me think he had great court vision but made decent passes out of the double team.
</blockquote>

He made one nice pass from the free throw line to Gordon under the basket for a lay-up.

<strong><a href="#comment-301138" rel="nofollow">latke</a></strong>: His body type is more along the lines of Dwight Howard’s though.

Blake's Amare's height (6'8.5") but with shorter arms and more bulk. Dwight Howard has freakishly long arms.
Oh..BTW..why does everyone keep calling Griffins play on Mosgov a dunk. Yea it looked incredible, but I classify that 1 with Dwight Howard's Superman "dunk". They both were amazing..but they just threw the ball in. Amazing lay-ups. To qualify as a dunk, ur hand has to go over and make contact with the rim, rite? Nevertheless, Blake almost turned Mosgov into Shawn Bradley with that one..wow! lol..he looked like a young Stoudemire on springs!!!

Yea we won..but I can't say wee looked good-but yet I can't get 2 down on our performance. I mean WE GAVE UP 115 POINTS ON 54.5% SHOOTING INCLUDING 46.7% FROM DOWNTOWN!! Blake Griffin IS a certified monster, but I don't expect many more games like this out of the team. As i've been sayin for the past 2 weeks or so, I expect more consistent and better overall ball by december as Mike D integrates the new, YOUNG guys into the system. I was hopin that AR would get more PT as we obviously could have used more rebounding and defense last nite. But a win's a win and if the team is not playin better come next month, then we get worried. For now let's just love on our 6-8 record (which could/should have easily been 9-5), and love on the fact that we have a true all-star in Stat and a seemingly more assertive & physical Rooster, and PG who is more of a weapon than Duhon will ever be (even though Du ran the P&R better). And not to mention a pleasant surprise in Turiaf's passing, defense and energy. I love his communication on the floor, everybody else should be talking out there. But I bet it sounds funny with Turi's accent as well as Mosgov & Rooster lol. No offense to anyone foreign on this board-i'm jus cynical and I try to find humor in everything. Anyways..i'm not panicking, YET. If the team is still playing like this say...Dec 15, then i'm worried. But u know what i'm excited about? The fact that Mike D seems to ream his team out more for defense than offense lately. D'Antoni screamin about defense? Can this be real? Unfortunately his staff is horrible with defensive schemes. I love Herb Williams, but I think it's either time to drop him or maybe Dan D'An in favor of adding Mike Brown or Sam Mitchell to the staff. Dan is the alleged 'defensive' teacher so maybe he should go-brother or not..we need better defensive schemes. Maybe we can keep Herb to work with the bigs. But if we replace one of the two with either Brown or Mitchell-our defense schemes...

Thanks for filling me in, Nicos. I'm looking forward to checking out some highlights tomorrow.

Having read the recap, one thing I think is funny is how seriously Gallinari seems to take D'Antoni's words. NY press picked up on the him saying that stuff about how he's not lebron; he's just a good player for the knicks. To me, it sounded just like what D'Antoni probably kept saying to him early on when he was struggling. Tonight's recap offers this gem: “I was just trying to help the team at a moment where the team needed me to help them,” Gallinari said. “The fourth quarter is the most important part of the game, especially when you’re playing a tight game. I was trying to read the defense and their defense was giving me that shot, so I was taking it.”

I can just hear D'Antoni telling Gallo during a timeout -- "they're giving you that shot. You have to read the defense. If they keep giving it to you, keep taking it."

It's not that other players don't rehash the coach's bullets, but when they do it it often seems very PR oriented -- saying "the right thing." For some reason, I think because of the level of specificity he offers, Gallo seems so sincere when he says stuff like this.

Latke- Griffin's Defense- hard to say. He was either playing Timo or Turiaf, neither of whom looked to score or Amar'e who pretty much breezed by him but he breezes by most bigs when not doubled. Wasn't very active as a helper- in short- looked like a rookie. Most of his assists were on straight forward kick-outs and the Clippers were shooting well so the assists piled up- no passes that made me think he had great court vision but made decent passes out of the double team. He did look like young Amar'e if by young Amar'e you mean the first few games of the season- dribbled crazily into traffic multiple times and Felton stripped him repeatedly- Amar'e's still dribbling into traffic but at least he's now making sure he knows where the opposing guards are before he does. Griffin's jumper is pretty flat so he'll have to work on that but still it's pretty clear this kid is going to be a monster- he just relentlessly attacked the basket all night and really overwhelmed the Knicks. It'll be worth checking youtube for extended highlights of this one- he was really fun watch.

And he’s bigger- pretty scary.I don’t think he’s as quick a jumper as Amar’e was pre-knee issues but he gets up higher and is just as strong if not stronger.Amar’e had a couple of big dunks of his own but they were pretty ho-hum compared to Griffin’s.
</blockquote>

His body type is more along the lines of Dwight Howard's though. Having had him on my fantasy team (and sadly, at least tonight, having traded him), he gets inordinately few blocks (.3/game). Seems that someone with those hops and that size should average more blocks than zach randolph.

I didn't get to watch the game, so I'm curious. People say his offense is like a young Amare's. How was his defense? How did his basketball IQ look? He had those 7 assists tonight, but he's averaging under two on the season. Was he just in the right place at the right time or what?

Well Timo's going to have a nice poster to send back to the folks in Russia. And that spinning dunk on the break was almost as good. About as good a performance by a rookie as I can remember- heck it was best performance I've seen by anyone this year. Amar'e took this one off on the defensive end but I guess when you know you can come back down and score at will it doesn't really matter that much. And Gallo both hitting the three and getting to the line- think Denver's going to be calling the Knicks soon?

It'll be interesting to see how the Knicks adjust to playing Charlotte after three straight games against poor defensive teams.

I mean whats next, are players going to simply jump from the three point line and fly towards the basket. How athletic can a person get. He was actually looking down at the rim on a number of those dunks.

Scary part is Griffin missed all of last season with a knee injury if Im not mistaken.
