massive: What I don’t understand is how a player like Chris Duhon can put up 22 assists in D’Antoni’s system, but Chauncey Billups is struggling mightily (since the injury). He started off the game playing the 2 guard spot next to Toney Douglas. If he continues this poor play, we’ll need to trade him in the offseason to a contender. Maybe we get lucky, draft Jimmer Fredette, and the Lakers trade us Andrew Bynum for Chauncey (Billups/Bryant/Artest/Odom/Gasol is still a title contender next year, right?). Unlikely, but I’m sure we could get value from a contending teams. Would Orlando be interested in Billups? Atlanta?
Amar’e’s poor play as of recently is probably due to the poor spacing. We don’t shoot nearly as many threes considering that we can have up to 4 offensive zeros (Jeffries, Shelden, Turiaf, Carter) in the rotation on any given night. Add in Chauncey’s inability to run the P&R and more isolation opportunities, giving Amar’e the chance to create for himself (which isn’t his strength), and it’s starting to look like this current set-up of the Knicks is what’s keeping Amar’e from having good games. We need to go to the Melo-Amar’e P&R more often.  

a lopsided trade in the knicks favor i like it. A 24 year old big men who can protect the paint, rebound, score with his back to the basket and is the 2nd best player in his position for a 30+ yr old point guard. Is that you Chris Wallace? and if you want the Knicks to draft a pointguard, you should hope for Kemba Walker. the kid is a better Ty Lawson

art vandelay: the pre-trade knicks were going to the finals….absolutely…and amare was going to be MVP, gallo MIP, and we were going to sign chandler to a 5 year- 70 mil deal with his assorted ankle issues.  

The pre-trade Knicks also didn’t have $40M+ a year allocated to two of their players for the next four years.
