it seems like Lee should be worth more than that, maybe not. if we could move Curry or Jeffries in the deal, it would look a lot more appealing to me.
“BUT: Fred Jones just got the start today against the Pistons as the Clipper’s point guard. ”
sprained his ankle in the first and questionable to return, they’ve got seven guys hurt now.

Yeah I kind of assumed that NYK would get Portland’s 1st rounder as well in that trade…

I don't know. Bayless for Lee alone doesn't seem horrible. One is on a rookie contract for the next few years, the other is set to damage 2010 payroll. It's not all that different from trading Lee in June for a lottery pick.

I agree with Gian, though. Why would the Blazers want Ricky Davis, or even Brian Skinner? Seems that they'd be just as happy with a straight up trade with the Knicks. How about this:

Blazers get: Lee, Jeffries, Robinson, and Marbury

Knicks get: Bayless, Frye, Rodriguez, Przybilla, and LaFrentz.

Blazer's get their guy in Lee, plus Robinson who they can decide to resign if they like or let go for nothing if they don't. With the expendable Pyrzbilla and Stephon coming off their books, they are being fiscally responsible too.

The Knicks get a few young pieces that Portland doesn't seem to have much use for. Pyrzbilla runs through 2010, but he's actually a center who is good, which is probably worth paying for. Plus they get to hit the "reset" button with regards to salary extensions, letting their restricted free agents go for cheaper players who aren't going to affect the 2010 cap.

I think I prefer this deal to the fake three way deal with the Clips. What about you guys (Caleb?!).

"…and why would anyone want Q-Rich?"

Agreed, it sounds fake. BUT: Fred Jones just got the start today against the Pistons as the Clipper's point guard. They are definitely at a point where, after spending more money in the offseason than they ever had before, they have to decide if they are buyers or sellers. They'd save money in the scenario suggested above which is something Donald Sterling likes even more than winning.

Oh, and if you scroll down in the comments section, someone posted this:
“I haven’t been able to confirm this from my clippers source yet…the trade will send Marcus Camby and Channing Frye back to the Knicks along with Deandre Jordan from a trade exception, Jerryd Bayless and Jason Hart. The Trail Blazers will receive David Lee and Anthony Roberson from the Knicks and Brian Skinner and Ricky Davis from the Clippers.
The Clippers will receive Quentin Richardson, Malik Rose and Sergio Rodriguez. One source has said the trade should be complete by next week. All salaries/.roster spots work out for all teams….”

I’m for this trade but it has fake written all over it. Why would the Blazers trade away all of their PG depth and why would they want Ricky Davis? And if I’m not mistaken, Ricky Davis will still be out for a significant amount of time.

...and why would anyone want Q-Rich?

If Lee is dealt to the Blazers, KB may as well change the name of this site to "BlazerBlogger". Lee would like the trade though-- he'd get to play on a great team with his best friend.

After watching D Wade completely take over the game against the Nets, including 2 ridiculous blocks of Lopez inside, I would gladly take him as a consolation prize in the LeBron Sweepstakes. The guy is playing at an unbelievable level this year.

I think Wade and James are the two best players in the league. The only problem I have with Wade is that his style leads me to believe he's not going to last as long as some other great players. The injuries could become a problem a couple of years earlier.

These Lee trade rumors keep popping up.

IMO, he's one of the few players on the team that it makes sense to keep around for the long haul. However, his value is soaring. That's and plus and minus. It's a plus in that if we trade him we may be able to get back more in Intrinsic Value than we give up. It's a negative in that if we want to keep him it may cost us more than he's actually worth.

Personally, I think it makes less sense to trade him now than it did when we had Zach, but if we get back the right pieces and/or picks you have to do what you have to do.
