It seems we are starting with our best defensive line up and keeping most of our best scorers on the bench. It’s hard to criticize something that has produced three wins in a row, but the starters have been getting killed and the scorers off the bench are taking over.
Gallo won’t play tonight. It was reported that they are going to rest him on back to backs. Tonight is a very big game. They should have rested him yesterday and played him tonight.

Where did you read that Gallo won't play tonight?

Duhon is setting the tone for this team and making everyone else better. He is intelligent and cool under pressure, and very tough-minded (especially lately, while obviously playing hurt.) I'm shocked at how good he is, both as a player and as a leader. What a steal.

Thomas is quietly playing very tough defensively. Not afraid to give the hard foul.

Gallo is fun to watch. Here's an interesting forum question: how many guys in the 2008 draft would you trade him for straight up right now? Obviously the back injury is key, maybe the question has to be answered w/ and w/o considering the back.

Re: Gallo fouling out, Owen, I sense that his fouls are inexperience fouls that will be less of an issue as he matures, but he will be a liability in the post at least until he fills out. He is very log and can probably block some shots, but this seems to be the weakest part of his game. Balkman's per 36 foul numbers have gone up in his third year, and he should have less reason to foul, being quicker and stronger than Gallo, so it seems to be a basketball IQ issue with him. I ahve more confidence that Gallo will figure it out.

Sorry to have missed the game, big win after a horrific start which i saw.
The +/- numbers are pretty amazing for our bench mob. They tore apart the Memphis reserves in the second quarter.
Another nice game from Lee, humdrum 19 and 14 on a ts% of 63%, although the four turnovers are a blemish.
Another good effort from Gallo although shades of Balkman there with six fouls in 17 minutes. He looked a bit off in the first half but must have finished strong.
Good to see Nate is getting back into the swing of things, saw him take it to the hole at least once, and hit a pretty huge three pointer in the corner, definitely one of those “no no yes” shots….
Chandler can’t seem to find his game anymore. I can hear the calls to insert Gallo in the starting lineup already. Which probably means he is due to go 10-12 against the sixers.
All in all, DaJudge, I completely agree with you, this team is way more watchable than last year. Most of that is more winning. And for me, to return to my bete noire, a lot of it has to do with the fact that Eddy C isn’t out there. And also Zach. I feel like I can breath again watching the Knicks.
When we miss the playoffs and get the 11the pick in the lottery, we will have that going for us.

I could see starting Lee with Harrington, Duhon and Q. And have Jeffries start as a catch all defensive small forward. That way he can play an opposing tall man or opposing point guard with no problem. And this lineup gives us a lot of man-switching potential, and with enough offense to start the game. Then you have Gallo, Nate and Chandler off the bench for scoring. You could start Chandler for Jeffries if you are playing a small team, but I think it's good to have Harrington/Chandler/Gallo spread out in the rotation.

This if a really fun team to watch. What's up with Memphis? I feel like all those players should be better than they are. I guess that speaks volumes about the coach. I always assume Warrick is 2 seconds from being a beast, but he just isn't. And Conley although he's coming on a bit, is pretty flat. Avery Johnson would be a great fit for that team though, too bad for them.

Nice to see smiling faces on the bench. All the players seem to be pulling for Gallo, which is great for the team chemistry.

How do we somehow manage to beat the Sixers tonight? We match up terribly with them, we're on a back-to-back, and were really outclassed the last 2 times we played them. We have to slow down their transition game, and not make Andre Miller look like Oscar Robertson like we usually do.

By the way, I see that Gallo's PER is over 17. Given that he basically did nothing in his first two games, I wonder what it is over the last 4 games since he returned. Small sample size of course, but by year end it's not impossible he's our second best player.

and Marbury, of course.
WE DON’T WANT STEPH! WE DON’T WANT STEPH!
you hate to mess with a winning formula, but I still think Harrington in the starting lineup, maybe for Chandler, would help. so much scoring off the bench, so little in the starting lineup.

I am having trouble with format...Sorry. Anyway, I think it's important at this time for Coach to play the hot-hand to some extent. Not particularly for the wins, but to get a real feel for the players. While it appears that Chandler & Harrington are better offensively, they are not consistent. I would go with the match up depending on particular team. I think playing Jeffries on the point guard is really disruptive and often a very good idea.

Really enjoyed this game and, frankly, I have enjoyed the year so far. As a general comment, aren't the Knicks are much easier on the eyes this year. Isn't it fair to say that with two top free agents, the Knicks are gonna have a very nice team? Is there any doubt? Kudos to Dantoni---At least he has a philosophy, an overall concept and a positive 'tude with his players. Imagine if Gallinari is really a player? How about Lee, Gallinari, Robinson, Duhon, a couple of youngsters, a real center and maybe Wade or James? I have come to appreciate Jared Jeffries. Simply put, no offense, but there's something about Jared. By the way, the Blog seems alot better recently. Less acrimonious, but still analytical.
