clearly there are some kind of off the court factors with Balkman, as many people have guessed. now two teams have given him no respect.

I really can’t understand why Balkman isn’t getting any run. I imagine Karl feels without Carmelo they need scoring punch. They got beatem badly on the offensive boards last night though.

although maybe this Miles silliness will negate any possibility of Memphis/Portland making trades for a while, that would be interesting.

I think Conley ends up in Portland, reunited with Oden. Pritchard’s had chances to do this, and hasn’t pulled the trigger yet, probably because Conley’s been underwhelming so far. but as you note, he’s still just 21 and getting him and Oden back together could only help both of them (they played together for something like 10 years, I believe).

I’m not sure Walsh is real enamored about dealing with the Grizzlies after the Zach Randolph fiasco.

Good news as now Donnie Walsh is apparently leaning more towards giving David Lee a long term extension.

from Alan Hahn: Lee will be a restricted free agent this summer after the Knicks were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension before the start of the season. It is believed that Lee, who will make $1.7 million this season, was seeking about $10 million per season in a new deal.

With the focus on having salary-cap space for 2010, Donnie Walsh wasn’t inclined to give out lavish raises off a 23-win team. But after watching Lee for almost half a season, Walsh has told confidants that he has changed his mind about Lee.

Boston thinks they need some size/scoring punch off their bench. I wonder if they’d be dumb enough to think about taking Eddy off our hands?

LeBron James really doesn’t need much help around him to win titles, he beat Boston singlehandedly tonight.

That’s not even an overstatement, he completely shut down Pierce and scored at will. You put him with the current Knicks roster and even they would be Eastern conf. contenders.

Nice to see sad faces on the Boston bench, are they in crisis mode yet?

As for young players I’d like to see the Knicks might be able to get for cheap, what about Mike Conley? He’s still only 21, and isn’t getting much playing time. His shooting/scoring is a bit low, and maybe assists as well. Comparing his shooting #s from 82games to Duhon, Duhon is better from outside, but Conley is more capable from the inside.

Out in Denver with Melo out, Balkman stays rooted to the bench. Kleiza plays 34 minutes, misses all 6 shots, and scores 1 point.
