@52 Huh? Where is the $7 million in extra cap space coming from? If we get Melo we are over the cap next February. (CBA pending, of course). We’d have to match salaries, no?

@47 that’s not true – Felton and $7 million in extra cap space (or $3 million in space and $4 million in one-year contracts, or whatever) is the same trade material as Billups @$14 million.

Perhaps this will bolster ‘Melo’s resolve that he won’t lose too many dollars if he waits until free agency to leave.

Caleb: I guess Howard/Anthony/Stoudemire and a bunch of playground guys would be an interesting experiment.

That would be not be good. I have a theory that if Duhon was still the Knicks' point guard, Amare would look very human this year. Amare is reliant on having a good small to run the pick and roll with. He is a bad ISO player, a mediocre passer, and a below average defender. He compensates by being a tremendous PnR big, but it takes two to PnR. I suppose he could just run PnR with Melo, but I have a hard time seeing 'Melo delivering the kind of passes necessary for Amare to finish.
