I got this from the Knicks writer for the Athletic. If you want the Knicks to take it’s pretty nice.

Knicks are 2-28 over the last 69 days. No other team has fewer than 7 wins.

Luka only had 2 assists tonight without DSJ to draw the attention of opposing defenses.

Watching Lance play, I’m reminded strongly of Old Yeller.

    Quote of the thread.

Hezonja playing 32 minutes is fantastic. He shouldn’t get 32 minutes in a game on a g league team.

Very promising game from DSJ. He and Mitch should at least make these games interesting to watch the rest of the year to see how they develop. Mitch needs to be getting more than 15 minutes. And what happened to Vonleh tonight??

I was wondering how Ntilikilla took an efficient game from DSJr. I went back and checked the game thread. Predictably, he still decided to complain about it. Dude’s a troll.

I don’t agree with Ntilikilla is trolling. He just has fixed opinions on some things, like many posters here. And while Smith was quite efficient in scoring, his plus minus was second worse to that of Knox. I don’t know why that was, but they also were the two Knicks with the most turnovers. So I say, just give it a rest on attacking each other.

Maybe, but the harm in a stray win here and there is just so marginal at this point, and the actual threat of Kornet and Mitch winning games for us so low..

    is that really true though?

it was a couple of days ago but a couple of folks had mentioned that there wasn’t a big difference between the 1 to 6 worst records (as far as the chance for where your pick might land)…

worst record in the league guarantees no worse than picking 4th…the third worst record and you could potentially nab the 6th pick…

we have a couple of games against the cavs coming up (hopefully kevin love comes back soon), but, yeah I’d be surprised if we reach 17 wins…

I’m already kind of surprised the suns don’t have a couple of more wins…

It’s a fine line between sucking enough to get the #1 pick and sucking so bad that nobody wants to play here. At this rate it’s really Zion or bust. And with only a 14% probability, it’s probably bust.

Fifth starting this season (as the joke goes, the Knicks finally learned how to tank properly in the first year where it doesn’t really help that much). But yes, guaranteeing fifth is still quite significant.

Would any of you guys that have actually watched one game (let alone all the games this year) be satisfied with any pick between 2-5? It seems that one team is going to win the lottery and the other teams are going to be left with crumbs.

Last year my kids asked me why LeBron is considered to be so good. I said that he led a team to the finals that would be worse than the Knicks if he wasn’t on them. Well, flash-forward 9 months and the Knicks are proving me wrong. The LeBronless Cavs are a full game better than the Knicks.

And with even odds, and an insurmountable 8 game deficit to the Hawks, there is virtually no reason to be losing games on purpose. These games are now free to win. But, sadly, it’s not that easy.

    is that really true though?

We’re a lock for one of the bottom four spots, along with the Suns, Cavs, and Bulls. Odds for the top three picks are the same if we’re 1-3, only slightly worse if we’re 4. The historical difference in quality between the 4th pick and the 6th pick is fairly slim. And there are maybe 3 guys in this draft that look solid (Zion, Morant, and maybe Barrett). Beyond that, it seems like a wash. Take a chance on Bol not being perpetually injured? Is there anyone else anyone thinks is really a top ten pick? Fall outside the top three this year and your best bet strongly appears to be trading down, if you can find anyone that’s actually interested. Maybe swap this years for some other team’s 2022 pick. But yeah, a few wins here and there aren’t going to shift our odds for a top three pick (~50% regardless) and outside of that it seems relatively unimportant (for this specific draft).

Also we’ve lost 15 games in a row, it’d be nice to win one. It would have been especially nice to beat Griffin who pisses me right the fuck off every time I see him play. I don’t know why. Probably some repressed childhood bullshit. Not enough hugs from gingers or something. Look, the world is a hard place, you’ve got to find joy where you can.

    damn, god hates us…

well, at least kevin love is back in the lineup…only played 7 minutes or so, tonight, but, hopefully gets his minutes back up in the next week…

I think it’s between us and Cleveland. Love is back but other than the games against us and one at Phoenix they might not win another game. They’re done with both Atlanta and Chicago. Push comes to shove I think we finish with 15/16 wins and come in second.
