  • [NYPost] Emmanuel Mudiay trying not to think too much on court
    (Saturday, March 10, 2018 7:11:42 PM)

The mind is a terrible thing to use. At least over instinct at times. Take Knicks point guard Emmanuel Mudiay and his game in Milwaukee, for example. “Sometimes the aggressiveness plays in, ‘OK I’m just playing rather than thinking,’ ” coach Jeff Hornacek said after a light practice Saturday. “When you think too much that’s…

Emmanuel Mudiay trying not to think too much on court

I think we found the problem.

I don’t think it’s a relevant conversation unless we get a top 3 pick, but I’d be delighted with Trae Young warts and all. His statistical profile is almost difficult to read because the usage situation doesn’t have much precedent, but at the end of the day the FT% indicates the shot is very real, he’s the leading assist man in the country despite playing with a bunch of scrubs, and he’s even found time to put up a pretty solid steal rate despite understandably taking many plays off on defense.

I’m sure most of us have watched a ton of his games at this point and the bad shots seem like an inevitability given that team. I don’t get the feeling that he’s a chucker by nature so I don’t think it continues in the NBA (obviously take my intuition for what it’s worth).

But yeah, I think there’s no way he gets past all of Orlando, Cleveland, Phoenix, and even Atlanta.

I would be ok with a shoot first pg with deep range if he is available. I highly doubt Orlando passes on him.

I’m still on the doncic train, I would get creative I trade up to get him…. mudiay is available and a pick swap.
All jokes aside I think we traded for mudiay as a trade piece. Perry is thinking.

Honestly, I think it’s very doable to trade up in the draft if need be. But this is contingent on re-signing KOQ. Package him and our pick. Done. This also ensures more tankage until KP is 100% and may also expedite his transition/growth to a Center. Seems like a good time to do it while he’s rehabbing. It would be better to trade Kanter and that pick and still re-sign KOQ, but who would be enamored enough with Kanter’s career season to add him?

A couple of big games for tankathon today – Philly @ Brooklyn and Chicago @ Atlanta. If those games break right and we do our part vs. Toronto, we’re 2 games up on Brooklyn (who unlike other lottery teams will be trying to win every game) and 1/2 game on Chicago.

7th spot would be so sweet, I can dream, can’t I?

Are teams as enamored as we are with oq as we are. Just seems like there wasn’t a lot of interest at the deadline.?

Courtney Lee is so fucking elite at being average it’s getting ironic.

There’s no way any top 5 team trades down, it’s too deep of a draft, unless it’s a ridiculous offer, like Herschel Walker trade.

The only team that could potentially trade down is Cleveland if James indeed leaves and they get desperate to add more players.

Frank is getting the start again today. LT has a thumb problem and Lee is coming off the bench

    Freshmen with 11+ BoxPlusMinus:
    2013: Smart, Steven Adams
    2014: Embiid
    2015: KAT, D. Russell
2016: Simmons, Mikal Bridges (in 2018 draft)
    2017: Lonzo
2018 so far: JJJ, Wendell Carter, Trae Young, Zhaire Smith, Bamba, Jontay Porter, Ayton

Cable is out in NJ – is Derozen’s bad line a result of Frank’s D or is he just off today?

Well, you’d think with Kanter out that the Knicks would at least be slightly better defensively today, if not offensively, but I guess not. Also, they are -15 on the boards right now, too.

Beas has gotten a bunch of boards, but that’s b/c he sags in and leaves guys open on the perimeter all the time.
